REGION ONE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Region One Championships hosted by Syracuse Wednesday and Thursday were a great indicator that we are one of the top programs in the state. Not just by performances in the meet, but by everything associated with hosting the Championships. The Girls were able to “limp” into 5th and the Boys 2nd.
Injuries definitely hampered our Girls. Many were held out of the meet, and some out for the season. Nevertheless, the Lady Titans still finished 5th. Mayra Franco definitely led the way finishing 2nd in the 100m dash (12.33) and winning the 200m dash in a school record time of 25.28. Lindsey McFarland’s 58.52 was good enough for 3rd in the 400m dash. April Basinger won the javelin tossing the spear 111'08. Sarah Sperry was 5th in the high jump (5'00) and 7th in the shot put (30'05). Abby Call qualified for state in the shot put throwing 32'11.50 to place 4th. Rylee Garver’s hard work paid off as she made it to State by placing 5th in the 300m hurdles running 47.04. The 4x100m relay of Ali Morris, Rylee, Shelby Cadwell and Mayra finished 3rd in 50.58. Lindsey Bailey, Lindsey McFarland, Shelby and Rylee placed 2nd in the 4x400m relay in 4:08.85. Shelby, Lizzie Reich, Lindsey Bailey and Daylyn Johnston ran 4:40.55 to place 6th in the medley relay.
The Titans 2nd place finish was led by Hunter Naisbitt. He won the shot put (55'11.50) and discus (173'06). Preston Williams had a great meet winning the 800m run (1:55.99) and placing 2nd in the 1600m run (4:24.98). Jaxon Hansen was right behind placing 2nd in the 800m run (1:57.02) and 4th in the 1600m run (4:30.05). Jamison Nielson was 2nd in the 110m hurdles (15.38) and 5th in the 300m hurdles (42.15). Shane Russell also qualified for State running 15.50 in the 110m hurdles to place 4th. Cory Serfoss and Chris Brown finished 2nd and 3rd in the 400m dash in 50.49 and 51.55. Chris also finished 8th in the 100m dash (11.62) and 7th in the 200 (23.30). Cory placed 5th in the long jump (20'08). Zach Watson matched his school record in the pole vault clearing 14'00 to place 2nd and Jake Zaugg made it to State by clearing 13'00 to place 4th. Hunter Dimick also made it to State throwing 47'03 to place 4th in the shot put. He just missed state placing 7th in the discus with a big PR throw of 131'05.
In relay action, Taylor Carlson, Jonah Lewis, Jeff Knighton and Michael Phelps placed 5th in the 4x100 in 44.46 to qualify for State. Jonah, Jeff, Michael and Weston Atkins placed 5th in the medley in 4:44.17. And Cory, Jaxon, Preston and Jonah finished 2nd in the 4x400m relay in 3:24.03.

THANKS
A big thanks to everyone that completed their assignments and helped make the Region meet smoothly. Parents, thanks for helping in concessions, at the finish line, manning the pyro-brite system, etc.. It wasn’t fun, but was necessary.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Chosen as Athletes of the Week were Lindsey Bailey, Cheyna Field, Erin Kibler, Kolton Rackham, Andrew Skidmore, and Jake Garver.

JV/SOPHOMORE REGION
ALL sophomores and many juniors and seniors will compete at the JV/Sophomore Region meet at Roy Tuesday. The meet will begin at 3:00.

JUNIOR HIGH CHAMPIONSHIPS
We need to have ALL TEAM members involved in putting on a good meet for the Davis District Championships. The meet begins at 2:00 and we need to be setting up by 12:00. Make sure you sign up for a job at Monday’s practice.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Everyone that wants to go to State is invited. The bus will leave at 5:30 each day. I need to know by Wednesday if you want to go so I can put you on an excused list. It should be an exciting two days and we can use support from the entire TEAM.
ALUMNI UPDATE
Congratulations to Hannah Williams. She ran 4:33.88 to place 4th in the 1500m run and 17:39.24 to finish 7th in the 5000m run at the WAC Championships in Hawaii. A great way to wind up her freshman year. Our adopted Titan, Jared Ward, placed 2nd in the 10,000m run at the Mountain West Championships in Fort Collins. He will now compete in the NCAA Western Regional in Eugene, Oregon.

UNIFORMS
Avoid the fine list by turning in your uniforms after school Tuesday, May 24th. Bring them to Room 2118 immediately after school.

CROSS COUNTRY
The meeting to hand out summer training and racing schedules will be held Wednesday, May 25th in Room 2604. It will begin at about 3:30. This will give you time to turn in your uniforms and give Jr. High students a chance to get to the school.

TITAN DECATHLON
The Titan Decathlon is tentatively set for Thursday and Friday, May 26/27. Let’s see who the best all-around athlete is. Open to ALL members of the TEAM. Including the Ladies.

BARBECUE / AWARDS
Tuesday, May 31 seems to have the fewest conflicts. It that works with most, we will have our annual grand finale at 5:30 pm. Parents are invited.
