Track Bulletin - May 29

Titans, Ex-Titans, Parents and Coaches,

We will have our end-of-the-year Barbeque and Awards evening Tuesday, May 31st at 5:30 pm. It will be held in the stadium- weather permitting. I'm sure if it looks like we are having a meet, we will get rained on. All of you are invited. To give us an idea of how many burgers, etc., to buy, I would like ex-Titans and Parents to reply to this email if you plan on attending. Parents- remind your son/daughter of the barbeque. I think they only "text" and "facebook"- they're not too big on the email technology.

Thanks, and hope to see all of you Tuesday evening.

BARBECUE / AWARDS
Our end-of-the-year Barbecue and Awards will be held Tuesday, May 31st at 5:30. We will meet in the Stadium- weather permitting. It will be a pretty low-key event. Just a little food, fun and handing out some awards.
There will also be a drawing for $100 to someone who was one of the top-three in an event that broke a school “top-three” record. Athletes on a School Record relay team will also be included in the drawing. Some will have multiple chances to win the $100. You must be present to win. To see if you will be entered in the drawing, look closely at the Performance Lists at www.titantrack2011.blogspot.com. Those athletes with an “*” by their mark will be entered in the drawing.
Parents and alumni are invited and encouraged to attend- but are not eligible for the drawing. Sorry.

TITAN DECATHLON
Congrats to Lindsey McFarland and Jamison Nielson on winning the Titan Decathlon Championships. Lindsey scored 3697 points to capture the Ladies title. Jaycie Smith finished second. Jamison totaled 4546 points to edge out Mike Russell, who finished with 4489. Mike actually broke the Junior Class Record in the Long Jump with a leap of 19'05"- his first attempt at the event. Landon Greenhalgh (3623), Cameron Dower (3446) and Preston Williams (3235) rounded out the top five places. Parker Greenhalgh, Tom Hill and Spencer Hull also gutted out the entire grueling contest. A good time was had by all. At least until the 1500m run.

GREAT SOUTHWEST CLASSIC
Good luck to Zach Watson, Jake Zaugg, Jaxon Hansen and Hunter Naisbitt. They will be representing Utah at the Great Southwest Classic held at the University of New Mexico. Jaxon will be running the 2000m Steeplechase Friday evening. Jake and Zach will be vaulting and Hunter throwing the shot put and discus Saturday. Follow the action on line live at: http://www.greatsouthwestclassic.com/.

CROSS COUNTRY
If you missed the meeting, contact Coach Buhrley or Coach Wilcox to get the summer workout information. It is also posted on the following web site: www.titanxc2011.blogspot.com. If you know someone that might be interested in running Cross Country next year, let one of the coaches know.
